Training Assistance Dogs at Almost Home

Chris and John, two residents of Almost Home, are with the project's new dogs, Seymour and Sundi. These dogs are being trained to be assistance dogs for disabled people in Massachusetts.

Dismas House, in a unique partnership with NEADS, is excited to launch a new partnership aimed at training disability assistance dogs Two Almost Home residents, with two back-up handlers, will train the dogs with oversight from a professional trainer from NEADS. Every six months, the goal is to graduate two assistance dogs who will provide a critically important service for the disabled in our area. The residents will gain new skills and provide a great service to the community at-large. Stay posted on the progress of Seymour and Sundi - our first two dogs at Almost Home!
